Sumter County Schools would like to inform parents and guardians of updates regarding our 2026 summer programs.

Due to low enrollment, Summer Enrichment has been canceled for students in grades 6–11. Summer Enrichment and JumpStart will continue for students in grades PreK–5 from June 1 to June 25, 2026, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Registration for Summer Enrichment is now closed.

Summer School (Credit Recovery) for students in grades 6–11 will still be offered from June 1 – July 17, 2026, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Summer School is free for Sumter County School students who need to recover a class.

Please note: Summer Enrichment and Summer School are only available to students enrolled in Sumter County Schools.

On Thursday, May 21, the Sumter County Board of Education proudly honored the dedicated service and lasting contributions of our retirees during a special Retirement Celebration. Honorees included Latonia Johnson, Fredericka Jennings, Shelia Harris-Smith, Curvin Crowell, Elzora Howell, Larry Robinson, and Wayburn Hall.
