Volunteer Information

Volunteer
Volunteers provide a valuable service to Sumter County Schools by assisting with operational functions and serving as role models for our students. Volunteers may help reinforce instruction, support non-instructional activities, and contribute to the positive culture of our schools.
All volunteers work under the direct supervision of certified personnel and are recruited, screened, and supervised by the principal or a designee. Assignments are based on the needs of each school and the qualifications of the volunteer.
In order to provide students with a safe environment and to allow for a variety of opportunities for volunteering, volunteer participation is classified into three tiers. Depending upon the tier, certain processes must be completed by district staff prior to potential volunteers being given permission to serve.
Once you have completed the form, you must deliver it to the school you wish to volunteer for processing.
