Representatives from Alabama State University visited the SCHS campus on Monday and awarded scholarships to eight senior Jaguars for a total amount of $118,624!

Alabama State University was founded in 1867 as an HBCU. Dr. Malinda Swoope, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, gave an inspiring speech regarding the mission of ASU-”to pour into your mind, your confidence and your leadership as the world is waiting for you.”

Dr. Freddie Williams, Jr., Assistant Vice-President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, eloquently spoke of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s sacrifices, and he exclaimed, “Your attitude will determine your altitude!”

It was our pleasure to host the Alabama State University Hornets on the Jaguar campus- two mascots (Hornets & Jaguars) with one mission: Student Success!
