Mission

The mission of Sumter County High School is to promote personal, academic, and technical excellence that will prepare our students to become life-long learners and productive citizens.

 

Our Beliefs

  • Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.
  • Students need to be provided a safe and comfortable environment conducive to learning.
  • Students’ learning is the chief priority for the school.
  • Students need to demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills as well as be involved in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Every student can learn.
  • A student’s self-esteem is enhanced by positive relationships and mutual respect among and between students and staff.
  • Every student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
  • Teachers will incorporate technology and a variety of instructional approaches to support different learning styles.
